MVC Fall Sports Season Updates / Honors


FOOTBALL:  CHCA and Dayton Christian look to defend their 2017 Conference titles in football.  CHCA is shooting for its fourth straight Scarlet Division championship and sixth MVC title overall.  Dayton Christian is going after its third Gray Division title in the last four years.  Conference play begins this week.

BOYS' GOLF:  Summit Country Day has won the past two MVC crowns in boys' golf.  The MVC Championship tournament is a two-day event.  Day one found Seven Hills with a four-shot lead over CHCA (329-333).  CHCA's Jack Lindgren was medalist, shooting a 75.  Seven Hills' Egan Dewitt was second with a 76. Day two saw Seven Hills capture the league title, followed by CHCA.  Co-Golfers of the Year were CHCA's Jack Lindgren and Seven Hills' Max LanePOSTSEASON UPDATES:  The Division III Sectional tournament was won by Seven Hills.  The Stingers advance to the October 4 District tournament in Beavercreek.  Max Lane was Sectional runner-up, firing a 72, while teammate Jacob Joffe placed third.  Other team members include Egan Dewitt, Michael Weirich, and Andrew Yang.  In addition, Cincinnati Christian's Austin Whitton has also advanced to Districts.  DII play begins Thursday at The Mill Course for CHCA, Summit Country Day, and Norwood. 

GIRLS' GOLF:  The MVC requires four teams to compete in order to crown a Conference champion.  Summit Country Day, however, has consistently been ranked number one or two in the weekly City Polls!  POSTSEASON UPDATES:  The Sectional tournament begins Thursday for Summit Country Day and Cincinnati Country Day.

GIRLS' TENNIS:  Summit Country Day walked away with last year's Conference championship, breaking a string of four straight titles by Seven Hills.  The Lady Knights and CHCA (3-0) have both begun the MVC schedule with unblemished records.  POSTSEASON UPDATES:  Sectional play begins October 2-3.

BOYS' SOCCER:  Summit Country Day is gunning for its seventh MVC title in the last eight years in boys' soccer.  In addition, the Silver Knights have won five of the past six OHSAA State Championships in boys' soccer.  This season, Seven Hills (2-0) and Cincinnati Country Day (3-0) have begun the MVC season with perfect records.

GIRLS' SOCCER:  Last fall, Summit Country Day captured its seventh MVC crown in the past nine years.  The Lady Knights also won the 2017 State Championship in girls' soccer.  Cincinnati Country Day (3-0) currently sits atop the Conference standings.

BOYS' CROSS COUNTRY:  Summit Country Day has won eight of the past nine MVC titles in boys' cross country.  The Conference Meet is slated for October 9.  POSTSEASON UPDATES:  The District Meet is slated for October 20 at Voice of America Park.

GIRLS' CROSS COUNTRY:  Like the Summit Country Day boys, the Lady Knights have also won eight of the past nine MVC cross country titles.  The MVC Championships are scheduled for October 9.  POSTSEASON UPDATES:  The District Meet is scheduled for October 20 at Voice of America Park.

VOLLEYBALL:  Cincinnati Country Day (Gray Division) and CHCA (Scarlet Division) look to defend their Conference championships this fall.  CHCA will be going after its fifth title in the last six years.  The Lady Eagles sit atop the Scarlet Division after winning their first nine conference matches, while Cincinnati Country Day sits at 5-4 and Clark Montessori at 4-4 in conference play to pace the Gray Division.
