Salute To Our Two State Soccer Champions!


STATE CHAMPIONS:  Summit Country Day girls’ soccer defeated Kirtland 4-0 November 10 to capture the school's second State Championship in the last three years!  The Lady Knights defeated Grandview Heights 3-1 in the November 7 State semifinal match to reach the title game.  Goals were scored by MVC Player of the Year Ravin Alexander and First Team honoree Colleen McIlveena, who both scored two goals and assisted on the other two.  Congratulations to the entire squad and to head coach Mike Fee!  Read more HERE.

Not to be outdone, the Summit Country Day men's soccer team defeated Ottawa Hills 1-0 in the November 11 DIII State Finals to win their fifth State Championship in the last six years!  The lone goal of the match was scored by Eli Rawlings off an assist from Henry Schertzinger.  Read more HERE. The Knights defeated Troy Christian 2-0 in the Regional Final and advanced to face Grandview Heights in the State semis November 8.  Read more HERE.  Against Grandview Heights, the Knights came out on top 3-2 to move on to the State Championship!  Read more HERE

Congratulations to our other MVC State participants from the fall sports season!  

In the sport of boys' golf, Summit Country Day, Cincinnati Country Day, and Seven Hills each advanced to the October 13-14 State Championships at the Ohio State University Scarlet and Gray Courses!  Summit Country Day finished fourth in DII, while Cincinnati Country Day finished sixth and Seven Hills eighth in DIII.  Individually, the Knights' Sam Gosiger finished seventh overall! 

In girls' tennis, Summit Country Day's Elizabeth Fahrmeier was District Champion and advanced to the October 20-21 State Tennis Championships at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.  She finished fourth overall at State! In addition, the Seven Hills' doubles team of Jillian Blatt and Natalie Choo also advanced!

In cross country, the following boys advanced to the November 4 State Cross Country Championships:  Clark's Ryan Estes, Summit's Elijah Weaver and Brian DeWine, as well as Cincinnati Country Day's Alec Hamall.  The Summit Silver Knights also advanced as a team with their second place finish at Regionals!  At State, the Knights finished tenth overall!  Individually, Ryan finished ninth in the DII race, while Elijah finished 60th, Brian finished 63rd, and Alec finished 120th!  Congratulations to all of these fine runners!  

On the girls' side, Summit's Catherine Coldiron and Norwood's Maddie Baker also advanced!  Catherine finished 34th in the DIII race, while Maddie finished 89th in the DII race.  Congratulations!

In football, CHCA and Dayton Christian each qualified for the State Football Playoffs.  CHCA moves on to the second round after a victory against Greeneview, while Dayton Christian fell to Lima Central Catholic in opening round action.  The Eagles fell in second round action against Madison 35-27 to finish another tremendous season with a fine 8-3 record.  Read more HERE.
